Sandesh

A great delicious & traditional sweets from encent Bengtal , invented at Hoogly District by the co-operation of Dutch's Cook of Bandel Church between the year 1540-1580. Sandesh is made by mixing with pure cow milk & sugar by a long process. Now it is available all over the eastern India with more than hundred varieties.

Jalbhara Sandesh

Creating an oasis by pouring Rose Syrup inside the sandesh was the main invention of Surjya Kumar Modak in the year 1881. Surjya Kumar Modak was a reknowned sweet maker of Eastern India at that period. The name of the newly invented sandesh was Jalbhara Talsansh Sandesh. Now it more popular by name Jalbhara Sandesh. Surjya Kumar Modak also invented Motichur Sandesh , Aam Sandesh , Khirpully Sandesh at the same time. All the original recipe succesively maintained till to day at his own original shop at 247 G.T.Road (East) Barasat , Chandernagore by dexterous Supervission of Sri Saibal Modak Great Grand Son of Late Surjya Kumar Modak under the Trade name

Existing Status

The business is running in a well decorated modern showroom of 600 sqft. area at 247 G.T.Road (E) Barasat , Chandernagore and the factory is about 2400 sft. area at same address.
